TapeWorm is NOT exactly free.

TapeWorm is not Shareware.  It's "Char-ware".  If you want to use this program, you should make a donation to Capital Candlelighters of Madison, Wisconsin. 

What is Capital Candlelighters?

Capital Candlelighters is an organization that provides support to children with cancer and their families.  They do fabulous work, but they need money to be able to do more of what they do.  For more information about their programs, see their web site at http://www.capcan.org.

Why Capital Candlelighters?

Because of Joseph, the kid who yells at me when I cause lag.  He doesn't really yell at me, of course, but it's fun to accuse him of it publicly.  He's a good kid.

How much should I donate?

The suggested donation is $25, though of course you are welcome to donate more. 

The minimum donation is $10.  If you're not willing to donate $10 to kids with cancer, I would prefer it if you did not use my program.  It'd be bad karma for you.

To donate, you can visit the Capital Candlelighters donation page, or you can click the "Donate" button on TapeWorm's "About" box.  The donation page allows people to donate in $5 increments, so please select at least two, and preferably five or more $5 units when you're filling out the donation form.

Do I HAVE to?

You really should.  When people donate to Candlelighters, it really makes a difference.  Your donation might go to buying a gas card to help a family afford to bring their child to the hospital from far away.  It might help buy a book so Mom can understand her child's illness and treatment better.  It might buy a toothbrush and shampoo and a deck of cards to help a newly diagnosed family survive the hellish first few weeks in the hospital after diagnosis, when they have nothing with them and they can't leave.  It's pretty basic survival stuff. 

You can do this.  You know you can.  It's easy, and it actually feels pretty good.

TapeWorm 1.1 Upgrade

If you made a donation to Capital Candlelighters when you got TapeWorm 1.0, you do NOT need to donate again when you upgrade to TapeWorm 1.1 (although of course you are welcome to!) 

However, if you have not yet donated but find TapeWorm to be useful enough that it's worth upgrading, I would appreciate it if you would make a donation of at least $10 to Capital Candlelighters now.  To donate, you can visit the Capital Candlelighters donation page, or you can click the "Donate" button on TapeWorm's "About" box. 

Okay, okay, I've donated already.  Can I download the file now?

Thank you.  Now that you've donated, you can download TapeWorm version 1.1.1.  Then read the TapeWorm configuration page to learn how to get everything working right.

And if you didn't really donate because you need to see if you're going to use the program before you're willing to help kids with cancer, don't forget to go to the About Box and press the Donate button.  It'd be bad karma if you forgot.  Bad, bad karma.  Like I said, don't go there.
